Account Recovery Policy
Establishes the terms, procedures, and limitations governing account recovery requests on Uhpenry.
This Account Recovery Policy (“Policy”) sets forth the methods and conditions under which a registered user (“User”) may request the restoration of access to their Uhpenry account (“Account”).
This Policy is incorporated by reference into the Uhpenry Terms of Service and applies to all Users of the Uhpenry platform (“Platform”).
1. Recovery Methods
1.1 Uhpenry currently supports the following recovery methods via the official Forgot Password portal:
(a) Standard Recovery via Registered Email or Username
- User must enter either their registered email address or username.
- Upon locating a matching Account, Uhpenry will transmit a time-limited verification code to the registered email address.
- Successful verification of the code will permit the User to reset their password via the Platform's secure password reset page.
(b) Recovery via Connected Social Account (Planned)
- A future method will allow identity verification via an authorized third-party platform (e.g., GitHub, Discord) linked to the Account.
- This method is not currently available and will be implemented at Uhpenry's sole discretion.
2. Identity Verification
2.1 Uhpenry employs verification code–based authentication for all standard recovery requests.
2.2 If suspicious or unusual activity is detected during recovery attempts, Uhpenry may require the User to submit additional identity verification, including but not limited to proof of registration, usage history, or platform activity logs.
2.3 Uhpenry reserves the right to deny recovery if the submitted information is insufficient to establish ownership.
3. Recovery Limitations
3.1 Uhpenry will not recover deleted Accounts under any circumstances.
3.2 Recovery is available only for Accounts with:
- A valid registered email address; or
- A connected and verified third-party platform (when available).
3.3 Uhpenry shall not be liable for any inability to recover an Account due to inaccurate or outdated User-provided information.
3.4 Recovery requests must be initiated by the Account holder. Requests from third parties will not be honored, except as required by applicable law.
4. Support and Escalation
4.1 If automated recovery methods fail, Users may submit a written request to support@uhpenry.com with the subject line “Account Recovery Request”.
4.2 Such requests must include:
- Registered username or email address;
- Approximate date of last login;
- Any connected platform usernames; and
- Any other information Uhpenry may reasonably request to verify identity.
4.3 Uhpenry may require additional security checks before restoring Account access.
5. Liability and Disclaimers
5.1 Uhpenry will use commercially reasonable efforts to facilitate Account recovery but makes no guarantee of success.
5.2 Uhpenry is not responsible for any loss, damage, or inability to access an Account resulting from the User's failure to maintain accurate recovery information.
5.3 This Policy does not create any affirmative obligation for Uhpenry to recover an Account and is subject to change without prior notice.
