How Uhpenry Handles Disputes
Uhpenry's moderation and dispute system empowers booth owners to manage access while giving users a path to challenge unfair restrictions. Learn how our process keeps collaboration fair, secure, and transparent for all developers.
Moderation, Disputes & Fair Use
At Uhpenry, our goal is to empower builders and users to collaborate around software in a fair and secure environment. This means creating tools that protect project owners from abuse while ensuring users have a voice when decisions affect them.
This article explains why Uhpenry's moderation system and dispute process are designed the way they are , and how they work in practice.
Why Booth Owners Have Moderation Powers
When you share a project on Uhpenry , especially as a Gated-Source licensed product , you need the ability to manage access. That's why we give booth owners (builders) the tools to:
- π« Revoke access if they suspect license violations or harmful behavior
- βΈοΈ Temporarily suspend access for further review
- π¨ Report serious violations for platform review
These actions help protect the integrity of your code, prevent misuse, and support healthy developer collaboration.
Why Users Can Dispute Decisions
We also believe users who have licensed or paid for access deserve fair treatment. If they feel restricted unfairly, they can initiate a dispute to:
- Present their side of the story
- Attempt resolution with the booth owner
- Escalate to Uhpenry if resolution fails
This ensures that moderation powers aren't misused and that trust remains a core part of every snapcharge.

What Happens During a Dispute?
When a dispute is started, we want both parties to engage seriously. To create a balanced and safe booth, the following happens automatically:
- The disputed project becomes inactive (users can't receive updates)
- Its visibility is set to private (can't be discovered or promoted)
- Booth owner and user are notified to begin resolving the issue
- If unresolved after a set period, Uhpenry may step in to mediate
This process protects both parties from misuse or retaliation and maintains the integrity of the platform.
