Creating Stripe

Here's a detailed section for connecting a Stripe account.

Why Connect Your Stripe Account?

Connecting your Stripe account allows you to securely receive payments for projects listed on the platform. Stripe provides a robust and trusted payment gateway with features such as 3D Secure authentication, fraud prevention, and direct bank transfers.

Once connected, any revenue from project sales will be automatically deposited into your Stripe account, ensuring a seamless and transparent payment process.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

  1. A valid Stripe account. If you don't have one, you can create it during the connection process.
  2. A verified email address for Stripe.
  3. Bank details (to receive payouts).

    • From the dashboard, go to the Settings section.
    • Under Monetization Settings, click on the “Connect Stripe” button.
  2. Initiate the Stripe Onboarding Process:

    • Clicking the Connect Stripe button will redirect you to Stripe's secure onboarding portal.
    • If you already have a Stripe account, log in using your credentials.

      • Banking Details: Bank account information for payouts.
      • Verification Documents: You may need to upload identification for verification (e.g., government-issued ID).
  4. Grant Permissions to the Platform:

    • Stripe will ask for permission to connect your account to the platform.
    • Approve the connection to allow the platform to process payments on your behalf.
  5. Confirmation:

    • Once the connection is successful, you'll be redirected back to the platform.
    • A confirmation message will appear indicating that your Stripe account has been successfully connected.

Managing Your Stripe Connection

After connecting Stripe, you can manage your payment settings and view Stripe-related activities:

  1. Access Payment Settings:

    • Go to the Settings > Monetization Settings section on the platform.
  2. View Payment Status:

    • Track pending, completed, and failed snapcharges in your dashboard.
    • Payment history is automatically synced with your Stripe dashboard for transparency.
  3. Disconnecting Stripe:

    • If you wish to disconnect your Stripe account, you can do so under the Monetization Settings section.
    • Note that disconnecting Stripe will disable all monetization features for your projects.

Important Notes

  1. Revenue Payouts:

    • All earnings from project sales will be transferred to your Stripe account based on Stripe's payout schedule.
    • Ensure your bank account details are correct to avoid delays.
  2. 3D Secure Payments:

    • Stripe's integration includes 3D Secure authentication to ensure safe snapcharges for both sellers and users.
  3. Currency Support:

    • Stripe supports multiple currencies. Earnings will be processed in your preferred currency based on your Stripe account settings.
  4. Snapcharge Fees:

    • Stripe charges a small processing fee for each snapcharge. Review Stripe's official fee structure to understand applicable charges.
  5. Compliance and Verification:

    • Stripe may periodically verify your account information for compliance purposes. Keep your account details up-to-date.
  6. Stripe Dashboard Access:

    • You can log in to your Stripe dashboard anytime to monitor earnings, payouts, and snapcharge history.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while connecting your Stripe account:

  • Invalid Information: Ensure that all provided details (email, bank info) are accurate.
  • Verification Errors: Check for any pending verification requirements in your Stripe dashboard.
  • Redirect Issues: If you're not redirected back to the platform, try reconnecting using a different browser.
